CanResidency Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CanResidency handles your data.

1. Scope
   This policy applies to the CanResidency mobile app and this website.

2. Data we process
   Data may include records you provide or authorize, such as travel dates, destination country, purpose, notes, PR settings, and temporary residence records.

3. No in-app account creation
   The app does not require in-app account registration or login. We do not maintain a user account database for this app.

4. Purpose of processing
   Data is used to provide residency-day calculations, progress views, reminders, charts, and export features.

5. Storage and sync
   Data is stored locally by default. If iCloud sync is enabled on your device/account, data may sync through Apple iCloud services. We do not upload this app data to our own servers.

6. Timezone basis
   Day-level calculations use Canada timezone (America/Toronto) to keep consistent counting behavior.

7. Permissions
   Notification permission is optional and is used for reminder features. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

8. Export and sharing
   Export is initiated by you. Exported files may contain personal travel details. You are responsible for where and how these files are shared.

9. Payment-related information
   Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. We receive purchase entitlement status needed to unlock features (including Pro and Family capability states), but not full payment card data.

10. Retention and deletion
    You can modify or delete records in-app. Uninstalling the app removes local app data from the device. iCloud backup/sync data is managed through your Apple account settings.

11. Website analytics This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand anonymous or pseudonymous usage such as page views, approximate acquisition source, campaign parameters, device/browser category, country or region, guide interactions, and clicks to the App Store or other external sites. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, travel records, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to provide this service. You can limit cookies through your browser settings or use Google’s Analytics opt-out tools. 12. Children The app is not directed to children under 13.
